My transfer was based on a Toyota Hiace or people mover. I flew to Dunedin and planned to transport some bulky cargo to CHCH in the Van. Then I was told the vehicle was a small compact car. The staff at Hertz were initially rude and unhelpful. I then called the manager of Hertz, who said the car isn't guaranteed. I showed the listing and said theres nothing similar between a 12 seater van and a small compact car. The manager of Hertz then hung up on me. I tried to call back and my call was denied. It was a very unpleasant and stressful situation as I had planned my trip and booked my flights around the basis I was transferring a van. The listing needs to be what is advertised to avoid these situations. Thank goodness Hertz finally helped out and let me take another people mover vehicle that didn't even need to be transferred. Have more options with covering transfer costs. As this is service for rental companies not needing to pay employyes or transport companies, all fixed costs should be covered by them (like fuel, ferry for the vehicle).

It would be good if there was some indication on the car type. I was also surprised that there was a transfer fee from the “airport” location to the airport which the company waived after I asked nicely. There was also a requirement to use a credit card not a debit card. So these were more issues with the car company that the transfer car service but they reflect on the service overall.
