Knowing which company is being used prior to sending request for a car would be useful.

Email and ask what time that you want to pick up the car. Thrifty was difficult to get through to. An email confirmation of suitable time would be good

Please make sure that everything is shown before the car is taken away in the beginning. I had to look for the key then go back again as I didn't know that it was keyless and that it was a foot brake instead of a handbrake! Otherwise it went very well and I really enjoyed taking my Dad up to Auckland from Christchurch. It's even better if the ferry is included! Everyone was very friendly and that's so incredibly important. Thanks very much. Kind regards, Penny

Option to cancel a booking request if rental company doesn't respond within 24hrs

Not really, had a bit of trouble with finding the drop off pojnt so mabye a diagram but that could be dificult for each airport
